Finally got to.............

..............beyond 10 hours Happy Hacker for one of my ponies this year. Ed & Darna plus Connie & me had a lovely hack on the moors, larks & curlews singing :) Mostly been the wind that has stopped us riding, our lane is single track & I do like to be able to hear vehicles approaching from behind! Now we have broken that barrier I am hoping for lots more rides :)

Thats a good impressive start. Do you actually time yourself, look at watch etc. when you set off. I find it quite difficult as my Dad, bless him, was obsessed with time. We had clocks everywhere at home. In fact when I used to visit when he was elderly he had all these talking clocks and they all spoke the hour on the hour, but were all out of sync, which was a bit funny as one after the other they would say, its 3am, followed a few seconds or minutes by another saying, its 3am. Consequently I have never been a very good timekeeper and absolutely hate having to watch the clock. I used to have a stopwatch and set that off when I started. I managed two years, which did help with encouraging me to ride, enough to get a bronze rosette. It all fell to bits last year what with the awful Spring and Beast from the East, then my ribs. I gave up in the end. Not sure what I'm doing this year. :umm?:

I either look at my watch or if I am trying to get them PR fit I will have my Garmin GPS on so not only do I get time but distance, average speed, fastest speed and several other things that are of no use to me such as elevation ASL, latitude & longitude.
