Great PR today

...in the woods near Scarborough with views out across the moors or across to Scarborough bay. Started off cool & grey then sunny but not too hot:clap: It does have some steep climbs but happily not too long.
Took Connie & Darna, Connie vetted sound before & after the ride...good to know after the escapade with the bridge 10 days ago:)
There had been a mega thunderstorm yesterday so there were muddy areas & even....gasp...lots of PUDDLES.....Connie went round all of them except one where there was now way round it. Princess Pony :D she has got too used to this summer, she is usually a bog monster :D
Connie led confidently from start to finish on only her second 16km ride....we are building the distances up very gradually thanks to a poxy winter with little riding & now the hot weather & concrete ground at home.
We encountered fly tipping across the track...she snorted & stepped delicately around it, we went along extremely narrow tracks...birch trees touching us on either side & her ears!! The only time she queried it was when there were bracken fronds knocked down covering the path but once I said that is the way she marched on   We went through very long grass & wild flowers on an uncut verge...they were long enough to swish against her sides/tummy...no hesitation :clap:
We were slightly slower than ideal time but a steward at CP1 had sent us the wrong way so we did do a bit further than the advertised distance :D All in all a great day out

:clap::clap::clap: Another great day. Curiously I met a lady today at hosp. who had just come back from Whitby and encountered the storm you also had the other day. She said it was surreal and the heaviest rain she had ever seen:eeek:
