Another Thyme update

Still feeling a little nervous when I get on Thyme but improving. My instructor rides her for most of the lesson and I get on for the last 20 minutes or so, my knee doesn't want any more but getting better. Last Tuesday I managed a very good spanking trot and felt safe. As I didnt ride again that week I got on yesterday before my instructor came as I felt I needed to do it on my own. Instructor rode when she arrived as Thyme needs exercise and then I got on again at end.. Finished with another spanking trot and then asked for canter and off we went. Another milestone achieved.

Got on last night by myself, a bit nervous and Thyme was stamping her feet, flies I think, not something we usually suffer from.

Another lesson today, so hopefully a further advance

Well done, safe and sure. As you get fitter you will feel so much more comfortable and secure and confidence will come. Remember too as my experiences show this week, we can often worry so much about coming off or like, when we ignore anything else that could happen on the ground, either related or not to horses, completely out of the ordinary. Great you have a good instructor who is mentoring you. Do you have anyone you can go out with when you are ready?

Another good lesson last night and had a slightly longer canter after another lovely trot. Did a lot of trot walk stand transitions.

When my instructor first got on she suggested we took Thyme for a walk up the farm drive. Thyme was wide eyed and snorting as she had not been up there before. Just turned round, she was obviously nervous.
