Two unwise women, from the south ...go north

Suggestions and advice are welcome for the latest lunatic plan.

Two of us are planning on a trip up to Scotland with ponies.....

the plan is........

To do the ridden highland class at the RHS :eeek::eeek::eeek:

I was also hoping to do the breed show if finances and logistics could be solved.

So here is the plan. We will hire a big comfortable lorry with decent living and an engine that will get us to Scotland swiftly.

Has anyone any ideas of anywhere where we could stable the ponies for the RHS rather than keeping them on site as that might raise mt stress levels too far. Ideally with a bit of turnout so that they could recover from the journey for a day or so before. Somewhere within reach of the show ( 1 hour).

Also is there anyone else from the south who fancies joining us for the RHS or me for the breed show, as we could always hire a bigger lorry as help with costs and driving would be wonderful

You could try Oatridge College - just over the bridge from RHS - but not sure they would do turnout.

I will ask around - what day would you arrive and when would you leave. You would be more than welcome here - but it seems crazy to drive an hour past the showground!

I might be wrong about this but it used to be a requirement that you stable ponies at RHS for the full show so check that before you make other plans.

Hels, I asked my head for the day off to go to Lincoln county show last year thinking that there was no chance, surprisingly she said yes!

What an exciting adventure, I hope you have a fabulous time. I'd love to do the breed show, there are classes for part breds this year but not sure my budget would stretch, however if you have an idea of costs you could pm me :)
