There is such a wealth of good advice and experience in the archives we thought it would be a good idea to bring some of them back for this sub-forum. Didn't mean to confuse anyone.

Great idea Rebecca, especially for those of us who have joined the board relatively recently. It's good to see what has gone before.

It is good to read them Reb, and as some others have said to see how far some members have progressed!:clap:

Brilliant idea. Would it be like a reference sub forum?

I think it will be a great resource for referencing issues that may arise with our Hipos at whatever stage they are at. It can also be added to at any time if more advice is offered, even if the topic is an 'old' one.

Just realised I should have put on a note about some of these posts going back to when the revised forum started! I spent a couple of hours dredging through all the past threads and chose to bring forward those that I felt would still be relevant today. So although the original posters may have resolved their problems, there will be others experiencing similar difficulties right now :wavey:

I think this is a wonderful idea. I've had my boy for nearly a year and I've experienced many of the problems identified here. I don't have too many opportunities to log in and respond to messages (isn't work a nuisance?!) so being able to have a 'quick scan' for relevant issues is great. In fact, I came home from riding yesterday saying 'i've really got to sort out this naughtiness at the mounting block' and lo and behold, what was top of the list on this sub-forum when I looked today? And next was ... cantering - second on my 'list of things to sort out'. Brilliant. The advice is great, but just knowing that I'm far from the only one is almost better ... So, thanks to whoever organised this, Bronagh

You could make this a starting point for the book we want Dierdre to write re training the young HiPo. She has a wealth of wisdom and experience, but it would be wonderful to combine it with other people's experiences. too.
